There is scientific evidence that the mysterious vitrified walled hill forts of Scotland and Sweden date to the time of the dinosaurs.
The evidence is found by examining PaleoMaps and they map the ancient continents. See the PaleoMap Project of the University of Texas at Arlington.
Briefly, these maps show two things. First, that Scotland and Southeastern Sweden were islands explaining why these forts are concentrated where they are.
Second, that these two islands were under the trajectory of the meteorite that killed the dinosaurs. This explains that the fort wall were melted by the heat produced by this meteorite.
All this tells us that intelligent life existed at the the time of the dinosaurs. Who or what they were is unknown.
