Happy Summer Solstice! (for us of the North!)

Happy Summer Solstice! This is the sun setting over the desert at Abu Ghorub, Egypt. The Sun is the reason we have life on this planet. We don’t pay that much attention to it in our modern era, but all life revolves around the cycles of the Sun. The seasons of the planet, our health and happiness, our food supply, it is all connected very closely to this billions of years old blazing ball of nuclear fire. We learnt of our connection to the sun early on, we developed symbolic religions around it, we knew that the coming of the sun and it’s warmth was directly connected to our prosperity and survival. Many of us still worship the Sun without realizing it – Christianity, Islam, Judaism are all derivative Sun cults, constructed from the bits and pieces of other, more ancient Sun cult religions – those of ancient Egypt, India, and so many others.

I hope you are all well, where ever these words are reaching you, and that you mark the passage of this of this cosmically significant day in some small way in your life! I hold out hope that more of us will celebrate these eternal markers of the passage of time, as the ancients did, in recognition of the importance that the cosmic environment plays in our everyday life. And if I’m honest, I hope we all do a little less celebrating of the hallmark and cosmically insignificant holidays that have replaced such events in our culture.

LiveStream today, 3PM PST!

I am going to livestream this afternoon, around 3pm PST… A lot of what I do in video production is reviewing the (terabytes of) raw footage that I have from many ancient sites, and I thought that might be a nice thing to share with those who are interested. I will be looking at my footage from around, in and under Meidum today. I might also review some recent ‘ancient history’ news articles, or comments on my videos, but most of all, I’d love to interact more with those who watch my channel – maybe discuss recent videos, answer questions, that sort of thing!

UnchartedX Merch! all the jazz

TeeSpring merch store!

I did this, almost entirely, simply because I want this stuff for myself, but I’ve started a Merchandise store on TeeSpring! I’m going to have some fun with it, I want to do a bunch of ‘mega-lithic’ ones with objects/imagery… lots of ideas.

It’s an easy way to help the channel out, and get some natty threads… There are lots of options, colors, stickers and mugs.

Store is here, there’s a link up top of the page, and it should show up on my youtube pages sooner or later.

New Video! Megalithic Mysteries of Peru and Bolivia: Peru’s Mystery Cave…

I investigate the evidence for ancient high technology in a small and mysterious cave, in the Sacred Valley of Peru, named Naupa Huaca.

This cave is likely the result of multiple civilizations, it’s a canvas to explore the many contradictions and unknowns in the story of history in this region, and to look into the symbolic nature of the architecture that the sacred valley is so famous for.

I’ll get back to this post with transcripts at some point. Right now I need a break!

UnchartedX on the airwaves! I’m a guest on ‘The Other Side of Midnight’ tonight…

https://www.theothersideofmidnight.com/20190526_van-kerkwyk/

I was surprised, yet delighted to be asked to appear as a guest on an episode of ‘The Other Side of Midnight,’ talk radio show, presented by Richard C Hoagland, this evening the 26th of May, 2019.

You can listen live or stream afterwards here: https://www.theothersideofmidnight.com/20190526_van-kerkwyk/

Hopefully I don’t cram BOTH my feet into my mouth at the same time… but I am looking forward to discussing one of my favorite topics with the excellent hosts, The enigmatic Serapeum of Saqqara.

Ancient Engineering on the Giza Plateau – REDUX with subs and additions

This is a repost of a video I published a while back. I added subtitles, some effects to highlight the areas we’re talking about, and changed some of the footage (and music, which was driving the need to do this….)

The original version is still available (as an unlisted video) via it’s old post below. Cheers!

An introduction to UnchartedX: the case for re-writing history.

New video! I wanted to provide an introduction video for my channel, in particular for people that are new to the whole debate around the roots of our history. To explain the premise behind much of my other work, and to try and briefly (!) make the case for re-writing history.

Ancient Engineering at the Temple of Bastet

New video! A quick look at a lesser visited Old Kingdom site, the Temple of Bastet, located some 80 kms from Cairo. Tel Basta has some astonishing pieces of what is clearly high technology, precision objects, and a number of machining marks spread across the ruins of a once mighty structure. The granite graveyard that remains has yet to give up all it’s secrets!
