Well this is embarrassing… Do you have a Microfocus MCT-225 Nikon CT-Scanner?

I was contacted earlier this year by someone in a company with a high-end CT machine, offering services to scan the ancient granite vases. While I’ve had several such offers, and I have all those contacts, I have somehow lost this particular email, or message. I even responded, and got a message back, but for the life of me I can’t find this thread. I have no idea how that happened, but despite my best efforts over the last 3 hours I can’t find it.

If that was you – please do reach out. I have a screenshot of a part of the message:

  1. Hey Ben,

I miss the idea of Granite (or stone) polymers in your videos. Like in the video about the box with the holes drilled on the side (for doors?).

Did you consider to talk about this idea?

  2. Ben, I am feeling the same way. For the life of me, I can’t seem to find your YouTube video about the ancient egyptian ramp (you mentioned a hollywood film from the 50s or 60s in the video) and how the place is now a garbage dump for the local army base. Can you please let me know if that video is still up or did it get copyright- stricken or whatever. If it’s not there, can you tell me the hollywood film you mentioned.

On a side note, I’m heading to Egypt on your tour in February. My actual name is Kris Dunn, so I’m sure when you reference the esteemed Christopher Dunn, I’m sure I’ll have a grin on my mouth.
    Thank you, in advance.

    1. hey Kris,

I’ve mentioned Zaywet el Ayran before, I don’t have a videos specifically about it. I also can’t recall off the top of my head which video has that section in it… Maybe the labyrinth video? Looking forward to meeting you in Egypt!

    2. I’m afraid I don’t know which UnchartedX video it appeared in if any, but the place is Zawyet el-Aryan and the film is “Land of the Pharaohs” (1955).

  3. Hi Ben,
Brilliant channel and I love your direct no nonsense delivery.
I’m curious about the angle of the undercut underneath the unfinished obelisk. It looks like what ever tool made the cut has come in on fairly consistent angle, is that correct? It’s hard to tell from the videos but to me it looks similar on the angle on underside wings of the schist disc and made me wonder if a similar tool (scaled up or down) could have been used. Obviously the schist disc is much more precise and complex but I’m curious if the angle is similar there might connection and a clue to the tool and method employed.
