Feels good to be back in Egypt! After 8 months away I was looking forward to returning. Good times and great company on this trip!

Join me for a deep dive as we re-visit the topic of ancient precision with an investigation into the intriguing phenomenon of the 'cornice' and 'couch' blocks, that are still extant on the Giza Plateau.

Precisely machined, from huge chunks of Aswanian granite, these contoured masterpieces defy the standard model explanation that everything here was made by hand, with primitive methods.

Legitimate, engineering oriented investigations and inspections made of these ancient artifacts reveal features on them that mirror techniques we would use today in modern machining, and uncover the true depth of their complex, sophisticated, and precise nature - far beyond anything that could be made by hand.

The cornice and couch blocks are smoking gun evidence for significantly advanced ancient technology, far beyond that of the Dynastic Egyptians, that MUST have existed millennia in the past.

What's more - these are no one-off, unicorn type artifacts - their machined precision into igneous stone is an achievement that was repeated time and again, and the evidence is still there on the Giza Plateau to show it.

One of my favorite pieces to show people on the Giza Plateau - a little off the main thoroughfare, to the side of the 'mortuary' temple of the middle pyramid complex.

The so called 'couch' blocks - really they're granite cornice blocks (including a cornice corner) that were part of the top or upper level of the granite casing stones, that once fully encapsulated the gigantic limestone core masonry (some of those blocks massing up to 450+ tons!) of this huge structure.

While it's in an extreme state of disrepair due to extreme erosional damage (how long did that take you might ask), the upper pyramid or 'mortuary' temple is, or was, far larger and more impressive than the mighty and much better know Valley temple, that sits next to the Great Sphinx at the other end of the causeway. Itself a marvel of megalithic engineering, the valley temple has/had 16 great square granite pillars in it's court, while the upper pyramid temple had 24, along with a much larger footprint, and the remnants of several are still viewable.

The couch blocks display remarkable aspects of advanced machining into a very hard material, aswanian granite. Consistent radii and compound curves, very smooth and polished surfaces despite many thousands of years in the elements. As per
Chris Dunn's analysis, they display machining characteristics similar to techniques used today to strengthen potential stress or break lines.

It's just lying there, out in the sun, usually next to where they park the camels with all their poop. Never ceases to amaze me - and I love showing it to engineers who visit Egypt with me.

New Video! A discussion with my good friends Kyle and Russ Allen of the Brothers of the Serpent Podcast. One that I wanted to have for some time - we get into the 'big picture' around what all the individual threads and vectors of evidence mean. How do we tie all of this together?

We also get into the Sahara, updates on the vase scan project, and talk about our recent visit into the largest tomb in the valley of the Kings - and one that is not open to the public - KV5, the tomb of the sons of Ramses II, with hundreds of subterranean chambers and passages.

Exclusive supporter-only segment also available.

Many thanks to Kyle and Russ. Check out their latest awesome produced video: How did they build this?: https://youtu.be/zQ6ONjEQLYI?si=plt6WVWVMlAUqBF1

New video! A deep dive into the evidence for ancient machining - centered around a remarkable granite piece at the rarely seen Old Kingdom pyramid site of Abu Rawash. Spans 4th dynasty context, connecting evidence, witness marks, expert opinions, and speculates on function and the possibilities for the full machining process, from quarry to polished stone.

Check out the full 2 hour documentary on youtube here: https://youtu.be/H3uLAnqxKNk

10,000 words and (I hope) nearly done with the script for a deep dive back into the evidence for machining in Ancient Egypt. A focus on this remarkable granite piece at Abu Rawash, its witness marks and connections to other evidence. Cut radially in two axis, it's concave, with clear kerfs and striations. Bit of a mind bender.

Been deep in this stuff recently, hopefully new video coming in the next couple weeks. For patrons, channel members etc, in the next couple of days I will record a supporter-only video going over what I've been working on and get into the compelling evidence behind this and other machined pieces of hard stone.

Ancient Hard Stone Precision Vases... are Fakes? Again?

There have been some claims made recently - and again - that the amazing hard stone vases from Ancient Egypt shown to possess remarkable precision attributes have been conclusively shown to be 'modern fakes.' I quite disagree.

The context around these vases, their precision and sophistication has been extensively documented by myself as well as several others across what's loosely termed 'the vase scan project.' I do not need to re-hash all the amazing findings made on these artifacts, I have hours of content on my channel that covers it.

I've been asked about this recent claim a few times, so I thought I'd track down the origin for it and address it. You can find the article I've written in response to these claims on my website, https://unchartedx.com - or go direct to the article here: https://unchartedx.com/site/2026/05/20/precise-vases-are-fakes-again/

Now back to making my video on ancient Mendes.

Cheers

Ben.

Going beneath the Black Pyramid at Dashur is a rare opportunity - entering the labyrinthian set of passages and chambers grants us insight into dynastic pyramid architecture. First excavated in the late 1800s, some passages have collapsed, and several are in danger of collapse due to the weight of the mud-brick pyramid above. We had the chance to view and inspect several interesting artifacts still in place beneath this iconic, ancient structure!

After much negotiation, finally got out to Tell el-Roba in Egypt - ancient Mendes. Amazing site, 250+ acres, much more here than I expected. Obviously the naos was the main attraction, but we found hard stone vase fragments (with core drill markings) in the midden, along with pre-pottery neolithic A flint workings, unifacials, identical to what you find at karahan tepe etc.. Pearl clutchers, activate. Also, circular saw witness marks in buried basalt slabs, just like at Giza and Abu Sir. Video to come, but currently busy in Egypt!

Join me as we take a deep dive into an incredible ancient logistic achievement - quarrying and moving the huge granite blocks of Ollantaytambo around 10 kilometers across the Andes Mountains in the Sacred Valley of Peru!

Known as the 'Tired Stones,' these massive blocks can be found in the high, steep slopes of the quarry, and all along the route to the amazing megalithic 'sun temple' of Ollantaytambo. Seemingly abandoned along the route, how these were moved in this unrelenting, high altitude, steep terrain, and why they're there, is a huge mystery.

Over the last year I've been investigating these stones, and trying to decipher the story they're telling us about the catastrophic history of human civilization….

Graham came with us to Egypt - as a machinist he decided to see just what it would take to make a replica OG vase from metal (far easier and more homogeneous than granite) with the precision of the OG vase, using modern, computer controlled mills. It proved to be quite the task!
